Last Wednesday I looked in at the Ripley Arts Centre in Bromley, which is currently housing a fantastic portrait exhibition put together by Kent Association for the Blind. The exhibition is made up of a collection of striking photographic portraits which all tell the inspirational stories of local people living with sight loss around the county. Each portrait explains how the individual has overcome the challenges of their impairment and achieved their goals, whether it be tending to their garden or winning a gold medal.
The exhibition is a fantastic achievement, and I congratulate all the staff at KAB, as well as photographer Rebecca Andrews, in organising such an inspirational event which truly challenges our preconceptions of what it means to live with visual impairments in the local area.
The exhibition is open to the public until 23rd August, and you can find out more about it by following the link below:
KAB have also booked further venues and dates around Kent for the year ahead, and I would encourage you to have a look at their website for further information.
