Official figures from the ONS have today shown that the number of unemployed claimants in Bromley and Chislehurst constituency stood at 1,786 in October 2012. The number of claimants is 4 lower than in September 2012. This represents a rate of 4.3 per cent of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, which is well below the London average of 5.9 per cent and below the UK average of 5.3 per cent.
Commenting on today’s release, Bob said:
“Every fall in unemployment is good news because there real people behind the figures. The figures now show a clear downward trend in the number of claimants in this constituency and, with 125 more people in work than there were at the start of the year, there are signs that our local economy is picking up.”
