Last Friday I had the pleasure of meeting staff and customers at the Twin Employment & Training Centre in Bromley. Twin Training work in partnership with public service provider A4e for the Department for Work and Pensions, providing tailored support for those locally struggling to find work.
Unemployment figures continue to fall in Bromley and Chislehurst: there are now 127 less claimants in the constituency since last month alone, and unemployment rates remain significantly lower in Bromley and Chislehurst than in the rest of London, and indeed the UK as a whole.
It was good to chat to a number of the customers at the centre about the help they are receiving, and as always, it was useful to hear from residents as to what they think can be done locally to improve front-line services. Whilst our work is far from over, the consistent drop in local unemployment rates is something we can all be proud of, and it is in part down to the hard work of organisations like Twin Training and A4e that we have seen this success. I offer my sincerest congratulations to both staff and customers alike!
