I recently visited local businessman Jason Grimwood in his newly opened store in the northern part of Bromley High Street. After seven years in the police force, Jason decided to follow his long-term interest in gaming and, just a year on from Warboar’s first few ebay sales, has won the start-up category in the recent London Business Awards.
It was great to meet Jason, as well as Barclays Business Manager Melanie Ross – from whom Jason received the financial assistance needed to get Warboar off the ground – and as ever, it was fantastic to see another small business success story in Bromley. It was particularly encouraging to hear that Bromley’s strong creative industries, particularly with regards to game designers and film makers, attracted Jason to the area.
New businesses are part of the life blood of our economy, and it is brilliant to see that Jason’s hard work and enterprise has been rewarded with this prestigious award. It is also good to see the support Barclays have given him. UK plc needs a lot more people like Jason, and backing for them, as Barclays do. Congratulations on Warboar’s success!
